The House rules package vote was big, and things seem to be off to a strong start
It's early, but so far, so good, and the new House seems to be carrying out the Trump playbook
In my previous post on McCarthy, I was happy enough that the rules package was agreed upon, but I wasn’t overly confident the RINOs in the House would vote for it. I was wrong, and they did, and the only idiot RINO clown voting it down was Crenshaw.
Third: concessions by McCarthy, which I’m not sure will be passed, but he was forced to accept them. If he works to shoot them down, he loses 20 votes on everything immediately. If they do go through, it’s an even bigger win.
On top of that, McCarthy has not adopted the loser RINO attitude, and has actually acknowledged the process made the Republicans stronger. If he keeps on this track, I may be forced to address him as “Speaker” than Luntz’ spooner-in-Chief.
Now, in a few short days, we have:
McCarthy moving forward with dumping communists from committees (including some RINOs)
Investigations to be launched into the FBI and China
“Holding accountable” DHS head Mayorkas for border crisis
How about “Hold woke prosecutors accountable” (retweeted by McCarthy):
I’m not seeing a lot I don’t like so far. True, it’s early, but the 118th doesn’t seem to be playing games, especially with committees to be chaired by conservatives like Jim Jordan.
One final point on the rules package, it gives McCarthy cover to go along with the conservatives, i.e. “hey, I have no choice… they have me by the nads and I have to go along with the rules I was forced to adopt… but I really, really don’t want to. So sorry.”
I’m seeing the “Promises Made, Promises Kept” tag line everywhere, a la Trump. Congressman Gatez is supporting McCarthy and is firing on all cylinders:
The communists and their fellow RINOs are weaker. We continue to advance on the enemy.
